Does Dandruff Cause Lice?

Dandruff and head lice are two separate scalp conditions with different causes:

Dandruff and head lice are not directly related. Having dandruff does not cause head lice, and having head lice does not cause dandruff. However, both conditions can occur independently in the same individual.
It’s important to address each condition separately if they occur. Dandruff can often be managed with over-the-counter shampoos or treatments designed to reduce flaking and soothe the scalp. Head lice, on the other hand, require specific treatments to eliminate the infestation and prevent its spread to others.
