Palak, or spinach, is a highly nutritious leafy green vegetable packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Drinking palak juice can provide various health benefits. Here’s a simple recipe to make palak juice:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups fresh spinach leaves (palak)
- 1 medium-sized cucumber
- 1 medium-sized apple
- 1 small piece of ginger
- 1-2 teaspoons lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
- Wash the spinach leaves thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or impurities.
- Peel the cucumber and cut it into small pieces.
- Core the apple and chop it into small pieces.
- Peel the ginger and cut it into smaller pieces.
- Add all the ingredients (spinach, cucumber, apple, and ginger) to a blender.
- Blend the ingredients until you achieve a smooth consistency. If the mixture is too thick, you can add a little water to thin it out.
- Once blended, strain the juice using a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove any fiber or pulp. This step is optional, as some people prefer to consume the fiber as well.
- Add a teaspoon or two of lemon juice to enhance the taste and provide additional vitamin C.
- Stir the juice well and pour it into a glass.
- You can consume the palak juice immediately or refrigerate it for a short while to chill before serving.
Note: It’s generally recommended to consume palak juice immediately after preparation to retain maximum nutrients. If you prefer a sweeter taste, you can add a teaspoon of honey or a few drops of stevia as a natural sweetener.
Remember to consult with a healthcare professional or nutritionist if you have any specific dietary concerns or health conditions before making significant changes to your diet.
