Foods That Clean Arteries

Now-a-days, heart risks are been increasing by our unhealthy lifestyle. So many people are suffering from coronary artery disease. Coronary artery disease happens when a buildup of plaque narrows artery walls and restricts proper blood flow to the heart. This can also lead to a heart attack or cardiac death.
Modern lifestyle patterns are lack of exercise, stress and unhealthy diet. This can have serious negative effects on the overall health especially on the cardiovascular system. This condition is known as atherosclerosis, in which arteries are blocked by many toxic substances, buildup of fats, cholesterol and other substances in and on your artery walls and also restrict the blood flow.
However, coronary heart disease can be prevented by following healthy lifestyle and we can improve our health by healthy diets. Foods rich in fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, healthy fats, and antioxidants helps in heart health. We are going to learn the importance of some foods which keep your arteries clean.
Foods That Clean Arteries
1. Apples
Apples contain pectin which promotes blood flow and regulates the LDL levels. They also control the absorption of cholesterol by increasing the production of bile acids. Apples are also rich in flavonoids which are very beneficial for the cardiovascular health.
2. Whole Grains
Whole grains are rich in dietary fiber help improve blood cholesterol levels and protect the heart against disease. You can consume whole grains such as brown rice, whole-grain pasta, barley, and oatmeal etc. Try to take half of your grains from whole grains.
3. Pomegranate
Pomegranates contain antioxidants which destroy the free radicals and also promote the blood flow and also stimulate the production of nitric oxide in the blood. Some studies proved that drinking pomegranate juice can improve the coronary diseases by clearing the arteries. You should drink pomegranate juice or eat 1-2 fresh pomegranates daily for best results.
4. Turmeric
Turmeric contains high amounts of curcumin which has strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Antioxidants present in turmeric can also help to reduce damage to arterial walls and Inflammation levels that show effect on hardening arteries.
You can take turmeric by adding 1 tablespoon of powder in the warm milk and drink at least once or twice a day. This is known as golden milk.
5. Garlic
Garlic removes the free radicals from the body because of the many antioxidants it contains thus promoting the blood flow. Regular consumption of garlic regulates the LDL cholesterol levels, it also expands the arteries. You should include more garlic in your everyday meals and in case of clogged arteries consume 1-2 raw garlic cloves before breakfast every morning.
6. Citrus Fruits
Citrus fruits contains both antioxidants and vitamin C which helps arteries. Take lot of oranges, lemons etc, drink a glass of lemon water early in the morning.
7. Nuts
Nuts are rich in unsaturated fats, vitamins, and fiber, which helps in heart health. You can eat all types of nuts like almonds, walnuts, cashews, pistachios, brazil nuts and hazelnuts etc. But you should eat them in recommended quantities. Nuts are rich in magnesium which buildup cholesterol plaque in arteries, helping to prevent clogged arteries.
