A grape is a fruit, which occurs in different colours like green, black , purple and red etc. Grapes are a non-climacteric type of fruit. They occur as bouquet of grapes(cluster). It contains many nutritional facts and health benefits.
Grapes are grown all over the world. Depending on the colour of the grape nutritional values may slightly vary because they contain colouring pigments. The primary pigments in grapes are anthocyanins and show many similarities with anthocyanins.
The nutrients in the grapes provide many health benefits. Grapes are a good source of fiber, potassium, and a range of vitamins and other minerals.
Grapes are used in preparing many items like jams, jellies, raisins by drying grapes for certain period. Mainly used in wine preparations.
Resveratrol In Grapes
There is an important component present in red grapes is Resveratrol. It is generally found in the skin of grapes and in some other food items. It is useful in wine preparations. Resveratrol is a part of polyphenols which act as antioxidants by protecting the body against cancer and heart diseases. It also contain anti-ageing properties.

Polyphenols like resveratrol in grapes contains antioxidants properties, lipid-lowering and anti-inflammatory actions that may help reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Grapes contain some amounts of pectin, which is a soluble fibre can help lower LDL(bad cholesterol).
