Fig scientifically known as Ficus carica, it is an Asian species of flowering plant in the mulberry family, known as the common fig. It is an important crop in those areas where it is grown commercially. This tells you about the nutritional facts of fig.
Fig is a soft fruit with a thin skin that can be either green or purple. The flesh of a fig is typically red, and the entirety of the fruit is edible. These are both tasty and nutritious.
Figs helps to treat health conditions related to the endocrine, reproductive, and respiratory systems, as well as the digestive tract.

Figs are good for you either eaten raw or as dried. Figs are low in calories, rich in fiber, calcium and have no fat. Figs are one of the richest plant sources of a variety of vitamins and minerals like vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K, B vitamins, potassium, magnesium, zinc,copper, manganese and iron.

Fiber may help alleviate constipation and keep you feeling full longer. It may also help lower cholesterol and control blood sugar levels. It improves bowel movement time, number of bowel movements, stomach pain and discomfort.
