Sweet corn is called Zea Mays in latin language belongs to family Poaceae or Gramineae. It is a variety of maize with a high sugar content. sweet corn is eaten as a vegetable in its immature stage(milk stage), rather than a grain. Sweetcorn becomes hard and starchy because its maturation process converts sugar to starch. So, it must be eaten fresh, canned, or frozen.
Corn or maize is a grain plant, originated in southern Mexico. The kernels of the seeds of corn hold the majority of nutrients which are considered as consumed parts.
Corn is usually considered a vegetable but it is actually a grain, rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Although the yellow color corn is very common around the world, many other colours of corns are also available such as red, orange, purple, blue, white and even black.
We can add corn to our diet because it shows many health benefits. We can also add them in salads, different rices, curries, snacks etc.

It can protect the baby from muscular degeneration and physiological problems. Due to its high fiber content, it also soothes constipation, which is a very common concern for expecting mothers.
It can be a healthy addition to your meals if you want to gain weight. By this you can also get some vitamins and minerals along with calories. Corn increase the blood flow and regulates insulin. Corn is extremely rich in Vitamin B1, Vitamin B5, and Vitamin C.
Corn contains complex carbohydrate which gets digested slowly, which in turn provides energy for a longer duration of time. One cup(145g) contains 125 calories. If you are an athlete, want to make your sweat out. Then add corn to your diet.
Corn can cause increased blood sugar and loss weight when consumed excess. But corn can be part of your diet.
